fuckyeahtattoos:

Jean-Michel Basquiat’s crown motif, and Keith Haring’s “Radient Baby.” Random trivia: the two artists were both friends during their life and career in NYC; Jean-Michel was/is sometimes referred to as the Radiant Child; when Jean-Michel died, Keith made a commemorative painting called “A Pile of Crowns for Basquiat.”
It’s been about a month since I got these tattoos, so it’s nice and healed. Though some people would think of it as two separate tattoos, I don’t really see it as anything but one and not because I got them at the same time. I just love those two artists and their lives so much, and they inspire me to be young and proud and okay and different and myself.
